The Santiago del Teide City Council is launching a new call for grants for housing renovations, with the application deadline being June 24. The local council is allocating €73,276.69.
This line of grants is social in nature, as the requirements specified in the rules establish minimum financial resources. It is specifically aimed at projects that are necessary in homes due to reasons of universal accessibility, dampness, unsanitary conditions, other habitability conditions that need to be corrected, etc. Specifically, the purpose of these grants is to award, on a competitive basis, aid to families who lack sufficient financial resources to finance housing renovations, whose primary residence is not in minimum habitable conditions, works aimed at legalizing the home, or for the connection of domestic wastewater to the municipal sewage system, funded by the Island Housing Renovation Program. Among other requirements for persons registered in Santiago del Teide to qualify for these grants, the following stand out: a) Be of legal age or legally emancipated, or failing that, have initiated the legal process for emancipation. b) Be registered as a resident of the municipality of Santiago del Teide and have been residing in the municipality for six months prior to the date of approval of the Island Housing Rehabilitation Program.
c) Be the owner/co-owner of the home where the rehabilitation work will be carried out, or have the right of usufruct or right of use over it.
d) The home to be renovated must be the habitual and permanent residence of the applicant and their family unit.
e) The applicant and none of the members of the family unit must own another home.
f) Not exceed the family unit's income as set forth in these rules.
In accordance with the scale established in these rules and the corresponding technical reports that will determine the suitability of the renovation project, the amount of the grant may cover 100% of the budget for the project in question, but may not exceed €10,000 in any case.
