The mayor presented the Provincial Neurolympics of Santiago del Teide 2024
They will take place from February 2 to 4, with the participation of 5 municipalities of Tenerife and 3 of La Palma.
During the morning of today, January 22, the central patio of the City Hall hosted the presentation of the “Santiago del Teide 2024 Provincial Neurolympics”, which will take place from February 2 to 4 at the Pancracio Socas García Sports Complex; counting on this occasion with a total of 8 participating municipalities and a forecast of 450 major contestants.
During this presentation, the mayor of the municipality, Emilio Navarro, appeared before those present; the Minister of Social Action of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Águeda Fumero; the Councilor for Social Services, Tania Cuadrado; as well as Besay Rodríguez and Óscar Morales, director and co-founder of said event.
For the mayor, Emilio Navarro, “from the council we welcome with pride and enthusiasm the power to establish ourselves as the headquarters of a provincial event of such magnitude; Without a doubt, a challenge for which we have put all our efforts and whose purpose is none other than to continue betting on actions that promote the active aging of our elderly, as well as their maximum well-being.
Regarding the current edition of the Provincial Neurolympics that are about to be held in our municipality, they are constituted as a sports, recreational and cognitive competition, aimed at people over 60 years of age.
To this end, on this occasion this initiative will have a total of 8 participating municipalities, of which 3 come from the island of La Palma, being the following: Arafo, El Rosario, La Victoria de Acentejo, Los Llanos de Aridane, Santa Cruz from La Palma, Santa Úrsula, Villa de Mazo and Santiago del Teide.
