The Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Saint James the Apostle begin in Santiago del Teide
They will take place from July 20th to 25th
This Monday, July 20th, the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Saint James the Apostle began in Santiago del Teide with bouncy castles in the morning and a theatrical performance by the AC Cherfe de Santiago del Teide starting at 8:00 PM.
On Tuesday, July 21st, starting at 6:00 PM, Senior Citizens' Day will be celebrated with performances by Magec, comedy by Cristito, and a final dance by Rafel Flores "El Morocho".
On Wednesday, July 22nd, at 8:00 PM, the Children's Queen Election Gala will be held, directed by Miriam Reyes and presented by Teddy Fernández, featuring performances by the Epsylon ballet, Wicho Torres, and singer Aura Reyes. The group Paraíso will perform afterward.
On Thursday, July 23rd at 9:00 PM, the Grand Gala for the Election of the Adult Queen of the "Raíces de Mujer" (Roots of Woman) Festival of Santiago del Teide will take place, directed by Sedomir de la Sierra, featuring performances by the Beanky Ballet, Paula Torres, David Afonso, and Jadel.
On Friday, July 24th at 9:00 PM, the eve Mass and procession in honor of Saint James the Apostle will be held, officiated by parish priest Víctor Manuel Fernández and sung by the Sueños de Anaga Choir. Following the Mass, a procession will take place along the usual route, accompanied by the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band. A reenactment of the dialogue between the soldiers of the castle and the boat of Our Lady of the Rosary, the patron saint, and Saint James the Apostle will follow. The festivities will conclude with a lively merengue party featuring performances by Tony Tun Tun, DJ Marcos Gorrín, the Sabrosa Orchestra, and the Son Sin Límite Orchestra.
On Saturday, July 25th, at 11:30 a.m., the Municipal Banner will depart from the Town Hall, accompanied by municipal and military authorities, the Children's Queen, the Adult Queen, the Grand Dame, and the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band. At 12:00 p.m., the Solemnity of the Apostle Saint James will be celebrated. Following the service, a procession will take place along the usual route, accompanied by the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band, municipal, civil, and military authorities, and the faithful.
At 8:00 p.m., the jury's decision for the "Corners of Santiago" and "Lyrical Lyrics of Santiago" Photography and Painting Contests will be announced. The festivities will conclude with a performance by singer José Vélez.
