Santiago del Teide Achieves Guinness World Record for Making the World's Longest Nougat with Local Products
Mayor Emilio Navarro accepted the award from the official Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Santiago del Teide has made history by achieving the Guinness World Record for making the world's longest nougat using local products in a single piece. Measuring a total of 1,151.15 meters, it surpasses the previous record held by Italy.
This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable help of countless volunteers, including the Acyre Canarias and Acyre Madrid teams, as well as local producers, businesses, residents, tourists, visitors, NGOs, associations, and more.
More than 1,151 meters of nougat, made with over 3,366 kg of products, with almonds and honey from our municipality playing a starring role.
This record is the result of collaborative work and a commitment to locally sourced products, highlighting the quality of these local goods. This milestone allows the municipality to project itself to the world as a gastronomic benchmark.
Furthermore, this nougat also has a social and charitable aspect, since, in addition to the tasting in the town square itself after achieving the Guinness World Record, it has been donated to various NGOs and associations that work with vulnerable people.
