The mayor signs the construction commencement document for the multi-sport court in El Molledo
This is being carried out through the Tenerife Island Council's Multi-Sport Courts program, and the city council adapted the facility's foundation.
The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, recently signed the construction commencement document for a multi-sport court to be built at the El Molledo sports center through the Tenerife Island Council's Multi-Sport Courts program, as part of its "Active Island" strategic axis. The program aims to create a network of multi-purpose play, meeting, and sports spaces throughout the island, suitable for users of all ages and suitable for basketball, volleyball, handball, indoor soccer, tennis, and badminton.
The purpose of this program is to provide a network of multi-sport courts with perimeter fencing to improve and modernize the island's sports facilities. These facilities, once received by the municipalities, will remain open and free to use, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of practicing physical activity and outdoor sports as a healthy lifestyle.
On the technical side, the standard size of the El Molledo court is type 1, meaning it measures 30x15 meters, and the court surface, the playing area in this case, has been adapted by the municipality itself.
