The City Council announces the winners of the VIII Contest of Crosses Decorated on Facades
More than 30 crosses participated in this eighth edition
The Contest of Crosses Decorated on Facades of this year 2023 took place this Wednesday, May 3, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Cross in the municipality. On this occasion, more than 30 crosses participated in different modalities: individual or private, collective and/or associations, as well as educational centers. The contest is integrated into the programming of the event "Crux23", organized by the Santiago del Teide City Council.
After the visit of the jury appointed for this purpose, in the individual category the first prize, with a value of €200, went to Alicia León Fleitas from Tamaimo, the second prize, of €150, went to Priscila García Santana from El Retamar and the third prize, €100, went to Belinda Carirós González de Arguayo.
In the category of associations and/or groups, the winners were firstly the San Fernando Rey de Santiago del Teide Parish, secondly, the Santa Ana de Tamaimo 2022-2023 Fiestas Commission was awarded, and finally Third place was occupied by the San Pedro de Santiago del Teide Socio-Cultural Association. The prizes that this category receives are €400, €200 and €100, respectively.
Finally, in the category of educational centers, the first prize went to the CEIP José Esquivel of Puerto de Santiago, the second prize went to the CEIP Aurelio Emilio Acosta, of Arguayo, and in third place was the CEIP Tamaimo. As for the prizes that this category receives, they are €300, €200, and €100 respectively, which will be exchangeable for didactic material.
The Crux23 Awards gala will take place this Friday, May 5, at the Tamaimo Social Center starting at 6:30 p.m., where the different prizes of the Contest of Crosses Decorated on Facades will be awarded, which will include a performance of the Majorero timplist Víctor Estárico accompanied by the voice of Belinda Falcón and the show "Violetas".
