The deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 PM on November 1st.
The Santiago del Teide City Council has announced the 7th edition of the Micro-story Contest Against Gender-Based Violence. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about gender-based violence through the writing, reading, and understanding of micro-stories, seeking to strengthen values of respect and equality so that, together, we can put an end to this social scourge.
Participation in the general category is open to anyone residing in Spain who is over 18 years of age on the day of submission, while the second category—for ages 15 to 17—is open to anyone enrolled in an educational institution in Spain.
The micro-stories—which must be submitted by 11:59 PM on November 1st—must address the theme of gender-based violence in all its forms and may be based on real or fictional events; stories containing sexist or xenophobic connotations, or those that are offensive to individuals or institutions, are excluded.
Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria: relevance to the contest theme (2 points), literary and expressive quality (2 points), syntax and spelling (2 points), and the text's originality and coherence (4 points).
Regarding prizes, there are two categories:
