The Minors area, present at the meeting of technicians from municipalities assigned to ABISUR

During this meeting, the situation of minors in the southern area of ​​Tenerife was communicated to the Provincial Council.  

Recently, the technical staff of the Minors team of the City Council of the Historical Village of Santiago del Teide was present at the meeting of technicians from municipalities assigned to the ABISUR regional collective, a meeting in which the transfer of the Technical Secretariat of the same to the municipality of Arona and in which an assessment of the current situation of minors in the different municipalities of the southern part of the island was presented; highlighting that it was attended by the advisor of the Common Representative in the Canary Islands, Doña María Afonso. 

 

It is worth mentioning that the municipalities of Arico, Granadilla de Abona, San Miguel de Abona, Fasnia, Vilaflor, Guía de Isora, Adeje, Arona were present at this meeting, as well as the technical team of Menores de Santiago del Teide, who presented, among others significant data, that the southern area of ​​Tenerife has experienced, from the year 2000 to date, a growth of 98% in the child and youth population; Without a doubt, a figure whose demand has not been reinforced with the equitable growth of the technical personnel of the aforementioned area of ​​the different municipalities, which continue to maintain the same number of technicians despite the population growth in each of them. 

Regarding the mission of the ABISUR regional group, it focuses on the search for new work strategies aimed at contributing to the well-being of minors and their families, as well as raising awareness among the different administrations regarding the importance of optimizing municipal actions. for children and families, consisting of technicians from the municipal Children's teams in the southern area of ​​Tenerife.
