The City Council of Santiago del Teide organizes, in collaboration with different entities, a new edition of the campaign “Agents of Change. Gender Equality 2022”, which integrates within its programming various events and activities that will take place on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day, which is celebrated every March 8.

Thus, through the aforementioned initiative, the consistory intends to commemorate the rights of women, the vindication of the fight for gender equality as well as the important role of women in history and our society.

In this sense, the programming has recently begun with the inauguration of an exhibition of photographs called "Mujeres en Capitalúsculas" and "Mujeres Rurales" by the photographer Mónica Rodríguez Medina, which will be exhibited at the Museo del Pescador in Puerto de Santiago until March 30th. Also, until March 31, municipal libraries will have a reading space called "Purple Corner."

On March 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Canary Islands Women's Film Festival "Women Time" will be held at the Tamaimo Social Center, which is aimed at students of IES Tamaimo.

On March 8, International Women's Day, an official video of the campaign will be shown on the City Council's social networks. Starting at 5:30 p.m., at the Hotel La Casona del Patio, the Concepción García Suárez 2022 awards will be presented, in which the honorary distinction will be collected by Doña Raquel Navarro and Doña Mría José Plasencia (sommeliers and room managers of the El Rincón Restaurant de Juan Carlos) as well as the award for the best sociocultural or sports initiative for Doña Sara Socas (hip hop singer, beat boxer, freestyle rapper and Spanish composer).

On March 9 and 10 there will be oral narration sessions 2 Sopa Violeta" aimed at 3rd and 4th grade students.
