The Tenerife Cabildo recently approved the signing of an agreement with the Santiago del Teide City Council for the execution of the works for the creation and start-up of the Puerto Santiago Youth House. This agreement contemplates the reform of the current Youth Center located in La Vigilia and the Center for the Third Age, which requires an investment of 430,561 euros.

In this sense, the Cabildo will contribute 80% of the required investment, that is, 344,449 euros, while the Santiago del Teide City Council will take care of the rest, which amounts to 86,112 euros.

This future municipal infrastructure will expand the leisure offer with a more playful and fun space, with areas for games, projection and Internet connection and, on the other hand, or a space divided from the previous one much more dedicated to training than what Young people from Santiago del Teide will be able to benefit without having to make long trips.

In addition, the work phases into which this intervention is divided seek to achieve a modern urban space in dialogue with the adjacent square and with the surrounding urban environment.

The aim is to harmonize the buildings with their surroundings and adapt them to a more modern and attractive urban reality. The proposed interior reform tries to achieve a better distributed and more rationalized space for both the youth center and the senior club.

The project idea is to generate a new compact and harmonious volume that generates a modern and joint image of these facilities buildings that is changeable between day and night, since during the day it will give that compact image and at night it will have an appearance much more porous and open as the slat facades function as lanterns of light.
