The mayor awards the Gold Medal to Professor Serafín Pardo for his teaching work and professional career in the municipality
His commendable work as a teacher has left a mark on the students who have had the honor of having him as a teacher.
Mayor Emilio Navarro presented the Gold Medal to Professor Serafín Pardo, recently retired, for his teaching work and professional career in the municipality for 34 years.
The Golden Talla is the highest recognition that the city council can grant to any person or entity for carrying out exceptional cultural or sporting activities or services that are beneficial to the general interest.
In this sense, Mayor Emilio Navarro pointed out “the great professional value as Serafín staff that has marked an entire generation of students, who has been involved in the life of the center as well as in personal and family aspects of the students outside and inside. of the same and that is why he is so loved and appreciated by all the citizens of the municipality of which he is another neighbor even if he does not reside there. In addition, the mayor took the opportunity to announce that from this moment on, the IES of Tamaimo until now will be renamed IES Serafín Pardo.
For his part, the honoree Serafín Pardo felt overwhelmed by the praise he received in a video prior to the event in which his students reviewed his career, the changes he brought with him and his personal facet beyond the classroom; At the same time, he thanked all the teachers he has had by his side in these 34 years of service, his parents, his wife and his 2 daughters, as well as the municipality of Santiago del Teide for treating him like another citizen." .
Attending the event, apart from the mayor, were the Territorial Director of Education, Adrián Delgado, the Councilor for Education María José García, different members of the government group as well as family members of Serafín Pardo, former students, teachers and friends.
