Santiago del Teide Presents “SDTree,” a Tourism Campaign Connecting Visitors and the Local Community to Care for and Value the Territory

The Santiago del Teide Town Hall presented the “SDTree” tourism campaign today, Monday, January 19th. This initiative is establishing itself as a model of territorial stewardship, integrating sustainability, collaboration, and tourism promotion, within the framework of the FITUR International Tourism Fair.

The presentation of the new promotional tourism materials was presided over by Mayor Emilio Navarro and Councilor for Tourism Luz Goretti Gorrín, who highlighted the value of SDTree as an action that unites residents, visitors, and tourism businesses in a common goal: protecting and improving the destination while respecting the environment.

SDTree has materialized in the reforestation of almond trees in the area affected by the recent fire that impacted the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve, strengthening the bond between the residents of Santiago del Teide and its visitors through a collaborative experience with a real positive impact.

During the presentation, Emilio Navarro highlighted that Santiago del Teide is the only European municipality certified in 14 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDTree) of the 2030 Agenda, and that SDTree contributes directly to 6 of these goals, consolidating the model of a destination that is not only enjoyed but also cared for.
