Attendees enjoyed a unique menu created by Lucas Maes, from Aqua, Rocío Miralles, from La Quinta, the team of chefs from the Pejeverde restaurant in collaboration with Silvia Fernández, Executive Chef of Landmar Playa La Arena, and Juan González, Pastry Chef of Landmar Costa Los Gigantes Santiago del Teide, March 9, 2024 – This Saturday the 1st Flavors of Santiago del Teide Gastronomic Day took place, organized by the Landmar Playa la Arena hotel, which brought together the best chefs in the area to bring together local talent and the best flavors to the attendees.
The new gastronomic space Macaronesia Food Truck, recently inaugurated at the Landmar Playa La Arena, has been the place chosen to host this unique event that 65 diners were able to enjoy exclusively.
The culinary proposal has been designed by chefs Lucas Maes, from the Aqua restaurant, Rocío Miralles, from La Quinta, and the kitchen team from the Pejeverde restaurant, composed of Ginés Afonso, Abraham González and Moisés Afonso, together with Silvia Fernández, Executive Chef of the Landmar Playa La Arena, and Juan González, Pastry Chef of the Landmar Costa Los Gigantes hotel.The chefs have presented their dishes to the attendees in a first-class gastronomic experience in a showcooking format whose plating has been carried out in the container that houses the restaurant's kitchen.
The menu began with a trio of appetizers designed by Silvia Fernández, consisting of coconut vichyssoise, shrimp and red curry, almogrote gomero with red wine cheese and mini salmon crepe with mango cream. Next, Pejeverde has offered a fish ceviche of the day with leche de tigre of yellow chili, red onion, cilantro, papaya and passion fruit.
He was followed by Rocío Miralles, from La Quinta, with an old tuna outfit and to close, Lucas Maes, from Aqua, with a Canary black pork cooked at 72 degrees, creamy cheese rice, tropical pineapple chutney, roasted lime mayonnaise and their red onion pickle is their proposal. The sweet touch has come from the hand of Juan González, with a delicious mango garden with yogurt cream and almond crumble.
This complete menu has been paired with Canarian wines: Barlia rosé, from Santiago del Teide, Viña Zanata white, from La Guancha, and the young red variety, from Bodegas Viñátigo.
The event was attended by the mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, Goretti Gorrín, Councilor for Tourism, Germán Jiménez, Councilor for Commerce, Employment and Local Development, and David Quintero, Councilor for Culture.
The mayor of the municipality, Emilio Navarro, wanted to thank Landmar Hotels for this initiative "which highlights the local product and allows public-private collaboration once again, so important for the development of the area."
For her part, Laura Reggiani, Director of Food&Beverage at Landmar Hotels, highlighted the talent of all the participating chefs and thanked them for their dedication and collaboration. Furthermore, he wanted to highlight the work of his entire team, which has made it possible for this first Gastronomic Day to be developed successfully.
