Registrations are open for the XX edition of the Baker's Vertical Climb Race

 

It will be held on February 8 from 5:00 pm with departure in Tamaimo and finish in the town of Arguayo

 

The City Council of Santiago del Teide is preparing the XX edition of the Vertical Race Climb of the Baker that will take place on February 8 from 5:00 pm.

 

The departure will be made from the Abelardo González de Tamaimo square in the direction of El Retamar, then passes through Las Manchas and ends in Arguayo, specifically, on the outside of the Francisco Julián Martín sports hall.

 

The test has a total positive ascent of 468 metres to make a total of 5,760 metres of distance. In this sense, registrations are already open at the price of €10 for the general public, being free for people registered in the municipality through the following link:

Only those people who are 16 years old or older on the day of the test may register, in the case of minors, they must deliver the duly completed parental authorisation, which can be found on the page of the council.

 

It is the organisation of one of the oldest mountain races in Tenerife and runs through an unparallelled natural setting, the ascent from Tamaimo to El Retamar where its vegetation envelops you; the arrival at the upper area of Las Manchas where you can appreciate the views towards the island of La Gomera and the Valley of Santiago del Teide and, finally, the descent to Arguayo accompanied by the imposing Roque de Arguayo.

 

The delivery of bibs will take place on February 8, 2025 from 15:30 to 16:30 hours in Plaza Abelardo González de Tamaimo. Once the test is completed, a bus will be enabled to lower the participants who so wish to the beginning of the tour in Tamaimo.
