City Council and Cabildo de Tenerife hire 9 unemployed people through the project "Santiago del Teide, for Sustainable Development"
For 9 months they will carry out works and services of general and social interest that contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goals at the local level as well as to the diversification of the island's productive structure
The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro accompanied by different councillors, gave, today, the welcome the 9 people who have started working for the city council within the employment project "Santiago del Teide, for Sustainable Development" promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the City Council of Santiago del Teide.
These 9 people, after overcoming the initial phase of the aforementioned project, have begun to work on this agreement for a period of 9 months through the realisation of works and services of general and social interest that contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goals at the local level, as well as to the diversification of the island's productive structure.
In this sense, for the recovery of the area called Los Baldíos and agricultural areas of the municipality, 1 agricultural technical engineer, 1 draftsman, 1 engineer in construction and civil works (hydrology) and 1 graduate in law have been hired. For the improvement in the welfare and integration services of the neighbours of the municipality, 2 cultural partners have been hired while for the development of active plans and policies to promote employment and economic development of the municipality, 2 middle technicians in business administration and 1 law graduate have been hired.
The project "Santiago del Teide, for Sustainable Development" is subsidised by the Cabildo de Tenerife within the framework of the call for direct subsidies to the municipalities of the island of Tenerife, aimed at supporting projects that contribute to the achievement of sustainable development objectives at the local level, as well as the diversification of the island's productive structure.
