The mayor read a manifesto of revulsion against this social scourge
The City Council of Santiago del Teide with its mayor Emilio Navarro at the head joined, today, the commemorative events programmed by the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" that takes place every November 25.
The main event took place at the gates of the local consistory where the mayor and the Councillor for Equality, María José García Pérez, read an institutional declaration and the manifesto against gender violence in which they reiterated the commitment of the city council and all levels of the municipality's society in the fight against this social scourge.
Then, there was a minute of silence to show and visualise the commitment and support to victims of gender violence. Previously, an excerpt from the play "La Casa de Bernarda Alba" was enjoyed with the Timaginas Theatre company.
