The city council presents the program of events to celebrate Canary Islands Day
The events will take place mainly in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago
Santiago del Teide is preparing to celebrate Canary Islands Day, and to this end, the local council has presented the program of events that will take place on May 29 and 30.
In this regard, on Thursday, May 29, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza Santa Ana de Tamaimo, the 20th Anniversary of the Raíces de Santiago del Teide Folklore and Cultural Association will take place. It will feature a commemorative performance featuring the "Valle de Camargo Dance Group" from Cantabria and the "Labrante" Folklore Group from Arucas.
On Friday, May 30th, Canary Islands Day, the Plaza de la Puerto de Santiago will host the Atlantic Markets Association's agricultural and artisanal market from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., along with parades by local folklore associations: AFC Tayme, AFC Cherfe-Cinyero, AFC Araza, and the Santiago del Teide Dance Workshops. From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., there will be a display of native games (Canarian wrestling and the "juego del palo") and giant games. At 6:00 p.m., the Canary Islands Day Festival will be performed by the Santiago del Teide Music Band with the collaboration of singer Miriam Reyes. Afterward, the Jeita company will perform its show "Canarias Fusión."
