This weekend the festivities are celebrated in honour of the Most Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star in Valle de Arriba
The Lord of the Valley's Prayer to Los Baldíos stands out among the different acts, which will take place on Sunday 25 from 11:00 am
The town of Valle de Arriba celebrates this weekend its festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star that will take place from Friday 23 to Monday 26 May, and that will host numerous recreational and religious acts, among which we highlight the traditional Rogative of the Lord of the Valley to Los Baldíos.
On the first day of celebration, that is, on Friday, May 23, the ascent of the Most Holy Christ of the Valley will take place from the Parish of San Fernando Rey in Santiago del Teide to the Hermitage of Santiago Apóstol from 7:30 pm. Upon arrival, II edition of the Folklore Festival "Cristobal Machado" with the performances of the Cherfe-Chinyero Group and A.F.Araza.
On Saturday, May 24, at 9:00 p.m., the mass will take place in honour of the Most Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star, officiated by the parish priest D. Víctor Manuel Fernández Suárez and sung by the Cherfe-Chinyero Group. Then, procession along the usual route, where the municipal authorities, faithful present and the Municipal Band of Santiago del Teide will be. At the end, great verbena with the orchestras "Maraury" and "Son Sin Límite".
The most commemorative act of these celebrations will take place on Sunday, May 25, from 11:00 am with the Rogative of the Lord of the Valley to the area of Calvary of Los Baldíos. Then, Holy Mass and return to the hermitage. Upon arrival, fraternity lunch for the attendees and verbena in charge of "Kimbara".
To conclude with the celebrations, on Monday, May 26, from 6:00 p.m., the descent of the Most Holy Christ from the Valle de Arriba to the Parish of San Fernando Rey will take place.
