The city council presents the programming around the celebration of the Canary Islands Day
There will be a rich cultural and festive agenda that will extend from May 25 to 31
The City Council of Santiago del Teide has presented the program of events and events that will take place in the coming days to commemorate one more year the celebration of the Day of the Canary Islands and that will extend from May 25 to 31.
In this sense, the events will begin this Saturday, May 25 in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago, which will host from 09:30 hours the II Insular Meeting of Players of the Stick and the Traditions with exhibition, among others, of the whistled language and the shepherd's jump.
On the 27th and 28th the central courtyard of the town hall will host the literary exhibition "La huella de mi andar" composed of a collection of stories prepared by local authors about influential people in the history of our municipality and who have protected our culture, idiosyncrasy and Canarian collection.
On May 29, from 6:30 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Centre, the presentation of the book "The Island of Bees" by the writer Ulises Martín Hernández will be held.
On May 30, Canary Islands Day, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Canary Day market with performances by the different local folkloric groups. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. there will be a traditional clothing workshop, indigenous games and group games "Quién es quién canario" and "Parchís Gigante". From 6:15 p.m., closing of the day with the Canary Islands Day Concert by the Band of Music of Santiago del Teide with Paula Gómez.
On May 31 from 7:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Centre, a talk will be held on "Cathars and Guanches" by the Association for the Study of Cathar Culture.
