The City Council allocates more than €110,000 in aid for the students of the municipality

The consistory has resolved the call for aid for the purchase of textbooks and school supplies while transport and rental aid is being processed

The City Council of Santiago del Teide maintains, year after year, its clear commitment to the training and education of its students and for this it has allocated for this 2022/2023 school year more than €110,000 in aid to the students of the municipality covering all age groups and all academic disciplines from kindergarten to university.

In this sense, the city council has resolved the call for aid for the purchase of textbooks and school supplies for which it has allocated €12,000. Families with students in Infant, Primary and Compulsory Secondary are withdrawing the material and books as appropriate in the municipal bookstores.

For its part, the deadline is open to apply for transport aid that represents about € 60,000 for ESO, Baccalaureate, Training Cycles, Professional Qualification Programs and University Studies as well as rental grants for university students and students of middle and higher grade training cycles for which it has allocated €40,000.

The city council highlights that all these subsidies have the motivation to facilitate access to education and cover the expenses that they entail for the students themselves and, above all, for their families, addressing issues such as distance to the reference centres and overnight stay in them.
