The city council announces the VIII edition of the Literary Contest "Lyrical Letters of Santiago"

The works can be delivered until 11:59 p.m. on July 1

The City Council of Santiago del Teide communicates that until 11:59 p.m. on July 1, the deadline for the presentation of the works that will compete in the VIII Literary Contest "Lyrical Letters of Santiago" is open, in the modalities of "story, poetry and praise" and to which all those adults residing in Spain can attend.

The works must be presented in Spanish, original and unpublished, not published in any type of format either in whole or in part (including the internet), not awarded or pending failure in other contests or waiting for a response in an editorial process. Failure to comply with this first base automatically disqualifies the participant.

The theme will be free, emphasizing that a "Special Prize" will be awarded to the work whose content takes into account any of the many noteworthy aspects-landscape, ethnographic, etc.- of Santiago del Teide; although the first prize may fall on a work that is recreated in the municipality, apart from the Special Prize.

Regarding the deadline for the delivery of works, this will be until 11:59 p.m. on July 1, while the jury's ruling will be announced on July 25, highlighting that the winners will be summoned to the institutional act of awarding distinctions, which will be held coinciding with the feast of Santiago Apóstol.

For the "Story" modality, the work must have a maximum length of 6 pages and a minimum of 4 sheets; while the "Poetry" mode must have a maximum length of 200 verses and a minimum of 25 verses. Finally, the "Loa" modality will have a maximum length of 75 verses and a minimum of 25 verses.

As for the prizes, each of the modalities of the contest will be awarded:

FIRST PRIZE........................... 300.00 euros

SECOND PRIZE......................... 150.00 euros

SPECIAL PRIZE..........................200.00 euros

In the same way, the original work must be typed in double space, using an "Arial" type, "Times New Roman" or similar to 12 points, and must have an A-4 size document format on a single side. The original of the work will be presented only in digital format through the digital platform "www.lopillo.es". A PDF must be attached with the anonymous literary work and fill in the personal data (plica); highlighting that shipments that include drawings, photos, external links or any type of ornament unrelated to the text will not be accepted.

Finally, it should be noted that the jury will be chaired by the Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Santiago del Teide and will have as members people related and qualified in literary art; although a technician from the Department of Culture will act as secretary of the jury.
