The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, accompanied by municipal technicians and the work contractor, recently signed the act of initiation of the works to adapt a pedestrian walkway in Tamaimo, specifically, the one that connects Coronel Gorrín Avenue with the street Méndez Núñez and for which the City Council is going to invest a game of € 31,029.88.

It is a passage of certain traffic, since it connects the main avenue of the town in a transversal way with a powerful pole of attraction such as the Alberto Gorrín Square and, above all, the Tamaimo Social Center.

The works will consist of adapting the space described so that it really has the formal and aesthetic characteristics of the urban structural backbone that it really is. For this, the adaptation of the space is proposed by demolishing the currently existing asphalt or hydraulic tile pavements, replacing it with an adequate natural stone paving according to an urban image more related to a pedestrian walkway with limited access to vehicles owned by owners of garages.

In addition, the regularization of the route is proposed by homogenizing its slopes. It is also proposed to clean up the dividing walls of the last part of the route and a new lighting for the entire walk, accompanied by a proposal for ambient lighting for the final straight section. As well as the creation of a sanitation network that allows solving the current situation of rainwater evacuation.
