Puerto de Santiago Celebrates the Fiesta Chica in Honor of Our Lady of Carmen 2025
This festivity will be celebrated from September 5th to 7th.
From September 5th to 7th, the town of Puerto de Santiago will host the traditional Fiesta Chica in honor of Our Lady of Carmen 2025, a gathering filled with religious, cultural, and festive events that each year brings together residents and visitors around the patron saint of sailors.
The program will kick off on Friday, September 5th, with the Lluvia de Voladores and Diana Floreada, performed by the Tamatimba Batucada,
starting at 6:00 a.m., accompanied by the arrival of sound equipment from Radio Curbelo. Later that evening, at 8:30 p.m., the Grand Gala for the Election of the Mayor Romera of Puerto de Santiago will take place, presented by Jaime Hernández and featuring performances by the "Vivencias 3ª Edad de Puerto de Santiago" Theater, the Raíces de Santiago del Teide Folklore Group, and the artist Sara Rodríguez, known as "La mujer de Hojalata" (The Tin Woman) and a contestant on Spain's Got Talent. The evening will conclude with a dance by the La Calle Group and Venezuela Sweet. On Saturday, September 6, the chapel will open at 10:00 a.m. to visit the Virgin of Carmen. During the morning, children can enjoy bouncy castles and a foam party in the Public Square. At 11:00 a.m., the streets of the town will be filled with joy with the traditional Parranda. In the evening, starting at 8:30 p.m., the highly anticipated Folklore Festival "La Fiesta Chica Canta" will be held, featuring the "Rincón del Bailador" and the voices of prominent soloists such as José Alberto Hernández, Isabel González, Alejandro Mendoza, Montse García, and José Manuel Ramos. The day will culminate with a grand musical performance: Gran Latinazo, featuring the Orquesta Sabrosa, Grupo Saoco, and DJ Adrián Shake. The program culminates on Sunday, September 7, with the opening of the chapel at 10:00 a.m., a performance by Mariachi Mencey Azteca through the town's streets, and the arrival of hikers from La Cruz de Santiago del Teide with their offering to the Virgin at 1:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated at the fishing pier, with entertainment by the Samay Group, followed by the traditional procession to the Public Plaza, where a food offering will be made and performances by the Araza Group and the A.F. Chácaras y Tambores Grajonay Group will be held. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display by the Pirotecnia Hermanos Toste, the grand papada (dance dance) by Comidas Fermín Mesa, and music by the Paraíso Group, bringing the three days of devotion and celebration to a close.
