Santiago del Teide Announces the 6th Short Story Contest Against Gender Violence

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on November 28th.

The Santiago del Teide City Council has announced the 6th Short Story Contest Against Gender Violence, which aims to raise awareness about gender violence through the writing, reading, and comprehension of short stories. The contest seeks to strengthen the values ​​of respect and equality so that together we can eradicate this social scourge.

 

In the general category, any resident of Santiago del Teide over 18 years of age on the day of application submission may participate, while in the other category, Secondary Schools, any student between 14 and 17 years of age enrolled at IES Serafín Pardo may participate (minors must present authorization granted by their father, mother, and/or guardian). The micro-stories, for which the submission deadline is November 28th at 11:59 PM, must address the theme of gender violence in all its forms and may be real or fictional stories; however, any stories with sexist, xenophobic, or offensive connotations against individuals or institutions will be excluded. The following criteria will be used to evaluate the micro-stories: Relevance to the contest theme (2 points), literary and expressive quality (2 points), syntax and spelling (2 points), and originality and coherence of the text (4 points). points).

 

Regarding the prizes, there will be two categories:

 

CATEGORY 1. GENERAL PUBLIC (Aimed at residents of the municipality aged 18 and over). The prizes are as follows:

• 1st prize: €500.00

 

• 2nd prize: €300.00

 

• 3rd prize: €200.00

 

CATEGORY 2. SECONDARY EDUCATION CENTERS (Aimed at students aged 14 and over enrolled at IES Serafín Pardo). The prizes to be awarded will be as follows:

• 1st prize: €500.00

 

• 2nd prize: €300.00

 

• 3rd prize: €200.00
