Santiago del Teide announces the V edition of the Short Story Contest against Gender Violence 

The deadline for submitting works will end on October 25

The City Council of Santiago del Teide has called the V edition of the Microstory Contest against Gender Violence, which aims to raise awareness among the population against gender violence through the writing, subsequent reading and understanding of microstories, seeking to strengthen the values ​​of respect and equality so that together we can put an end to this social scourge.

In the general category, any person residing in Spain over 18 years of age on the day of submission of the application may participate, while in the other category in contention, the Secondary Educational Centers category, anyone between 14 and 17 years of age enrolled in an educational center in Spain (minors must present authorization granted by their father, mother and/or guardian.

The short stories, whose deadline for submitting works will end on October 25 - at 11:59 p.m. -, must have gender violence as a theme in all its forms and may be real or fictional stories; excluding all those stories that have sexist, xenophobic or offensive connotations against people or institutions. 

To evaluate the short stories, the following criteria will be taken into account: Appropriateness to the theme of the contest (2 points), literary and expressive quality (2 points), syntax and spelling (2 points) and originality of the text and its coherence (4 points). ). 

As for the awards, there will be two categories: 

CATEGORY 1. GENERAL POPULATION (Aimed at people over 18 years of age). The prizes are the following:

• 1st prize: €500.00. 

• 2nd prize: €300.00. 

• 3rd prize: €200.00.

 

CATEGORY 2. SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL CENTERS (aimed at students enrolled in any secondary education center in Spain over 14 years of age). The prizes that will be awarded will be the following:

• 1st prize: €500.00. 

• 2nd prize: €300.00. 

• 3rd prize: €200.00.

The form of submission of applications may be electronically or in person at the municipal registries.
