The city council announces the winners of the IX Contest of Adorned Crosses on Facades 2024

Nearly 30 crosses participated in this ninth edition

The Contest of Adorned Crosses on Facades took place last Friday, May 3, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Cross in the municipality. On this occasion, nearly 30 crossings participated in different modalities: individuals or individuals, groups and/or associations, in addition to educational centers. The contest was integrated into the programming of the “Crux24” event, organized by the Santiago del Teide City Council.

After the visit of the jury appointed for this purpose, in the individual category the first prize, valued at €200, went to Priscila García Santana from El Retamar. The second prize, worth €150, went to Emelina Trujillo Fleitas from Tamaimo while the third prize, worth €100, went to Alicia León Fleitas from Tamaimo.

In the category of associations and/or groups, the winners were first the Roque de Arguayo Senior Citizens Association. Second place went to the Amelia Martín Seniors Association of Puerto de Santiago while third place went to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria Parish of Arguayo. The prizes received in this category are €400, €200 and €100, respectively.

Finally, in the category of educational centers, the first prize went to the CEIP José Esquivel of Puerto de Santiago, the second prize went to the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García of Santiago del Teide and in third place was the CEIP Tamaimo. As for the prizes that this category receives, they are €300, €200, and €100 respectively, exchangeable for teaching material.
