The City Council is opening the application period for grants for individual athletes in the municipality until November 12.

The grants are intended to cover part of the expenses incurred by individual athletes from the municipality participating in official regional, regional, national, and international competitions.

The Santiago del Teide City Council, with the aim of covering part of the expenses incurred by individual athletes residing in the municipality of Santiago del Teide for participation in official regional, regional, national, and international competitions, has launched a grant program for this purpose, with a budget allocation of €20,000.

In this sense, in general, sporting events that are included in the annual calendar of the corresponding sports federation will be considered official competitions.

Individual athletes affiliated with any sports federation and competing in official competitions who meet the following requirements may be eligible for the subsidies regulated in these rules:

1. Be registered in the municipality of the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide for at least one year.

2. Have a valid license from the corresponding sports federation for the season indicated in each call for entries.

3. Carry out sporting activities in the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide, except: *If the non-existence of the sporting event in this municipality is justified. *If the municipal sporting event coincides with another national or international event of a higher category, or if it influences the classification or awards some type of score. *If an injury or other force majeure prevents participation in the municipal event.
