Santiago del Teide is preparing to celebrate Canary Islands Day, and the local council has announced the program of events that will be held on May 29, 30, and 31. Specifically, on Friday, May 29, starting at 8:00 p.m. in Norberto García de La Vigilia Square in Puerto de Santiago, the "Canary Islands Day" concert will be held, featuring the Municipal Band and the Parranda Chasnera. On Saturday, May 30th, Canary Islands Day, the Puerto de Santiago town square will host a craft market from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, along with parades by local folklore associations: AFC Tayme, AF Raíces, AFC Cherfe-Cinyero, AFC Araza, and the Santiago del Teide Dance Workshops, as well as demonstrations of traditional games. Around 8:00 PM, another Canary Islands Day concert will take place in the Santa Ana square in Tamaimo, featuring performances by Jeita and Cristina Ramos. On Sunday, May 31st, starting at 6:00 PM in the Santiago del Teide square, Burka Teatro will present a traveling theater performance of local history entitled "El zurrón de las Macuquinas" (The Macuquinas' Pouch).
