The town of Puerto de Santiago is preparing for the imminent celebration of its festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen 2022, more popularly known as the Fiesta Chica. On this occasion, they will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of September, with a very varied program full of activities.
The first day of celebration, Friday, September 2, begins with a shower of flyers and a flowered reveille by the Santiago del Teide Fanfare, starting at 6:00 a.m. That night, the Grand Gala for the election of Romera of the 3rd Age of Puerto de Santiago will take place, with the participation of the Oroval group. Next, Verbena by the Gomeray orchestra and Los Ideales.
On Saturday, September 3, the Chapel will open at the fishing dock at 10:00 a.m., to visit Our Lady of Carmen until 9:00 p.m. Starting at 11:00 a.m., there will be traditional parties through the streets and bars of the town. That same night, the Great Festival will take place with a performance by Voces en la Distancia and the star performance of Nuria Fergó. Next, a festival by the Latin Sound and Maraury orchestra.
Finally, on Sunday, September 4, the Chapel will reopen from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the religious acts. Starting at 11:00 a.m. there will be bouncy castles and a foam party in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago. Later, at 1:00 p.m., the walkers of the group of hikers La Cruz will arrive to make the offering to our Virgin Girl in the Chapel. At 7:00 p.m., the Holy Mass will take place on the fishing pier, officiated by Omar Martín Vargas and sung by the group from the Raíces de Santiago del Teide folklore school. Next, there will be the procession along the usual route to the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago where an offering of food will be made with the performance of Raíces de Santiago del Teide. At the end, there will be a pyrotechnic display by the Toste Brothers and return of the image to its Chapel. Next, a great seafood paella will be offered in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago, enlivened by the group Ile Aye.
