The mayor inaugurates the new Tamaimo "Juan Damián Gorrín Ramos" Gym after an investment of more than 2 million euros
The name was chosen after a participatory process involving all citizens.
Mayor Emilio Navarro inaugurated the new Tamaimo "Juan Damián Gorrín Ramos" Gym this Sunday, July 27th. The name was chosen after a participatory process allowing citizens to choose the name of the new municipal sports facility located in the town of Tamaimo, specifically near the soccer field.
After the ribbon-cutting and plaque unveiling, the mayor expressed his gratitude to Juan Gorrín, the former mayor of this municipality and Councilor for Sports. He has been extremely active and involved in the various sporting and traditional activities in our area. Therefore, having this new municipal infrastructure bear his name is a way of expressing gratitude for everything he has given to the town and the municipality.
For his part, Juan Damián Gorrín Ramos thanked the Santiago del Teide City Council and its entire population for choosing him to name this gym after him. He did not want to say goodbye without first pointing out that, although the gym bears his name, every part of it bears the name of many people who, alongside him, have worked side by side to ensure that many sporting, cultural, and traditional activities, not only in the town of Tamaimo but throughout the municipality, have been successful and sustained over time.
The new municipal sports infrastructure has involved an investment of more than 2 million euros and features state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.
The new Tamaimo Gym "Juan Damián Gorrín" Ramos will open its doors today, open 24/7, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It features a cardio, fitness, and spinning room, as well as two rooms for guided activities. The staff will be made up of multidisciplinary sports instructors. It will also offer guided activities both in the morning and afternoon.
