The Santiago del Teide Town Hall organizes the 11th edition of the Festival of the Word

The festival will feature various activities related to the world of literature

The Santiago del Teide Town Hall has organized, once again, the 11th edition of the Festival of the Word, which, during April, the month of literature, will include in its program different activities and events related to literature aimed at all audiences.

It is worth noting that, through this literary event, the aim is to promote growth through the written word, all by fostering a love of reading and an interest in the countless stories hidden within literature; highlighting that, throughout its previous editions, a growing number of children, young people, and adults have been involved in each of its activities designed to enjoy reading and promote creativity.

Thus, this new edition began on April 1st and runs until the 20th with the workshop “The Troupe of Words,” which will visit the different schools in the municipality. From April 6th to 30th, there will be an exhibition entitled “Book, Pages, Paths” which will travel to the municipal libraries.

From April 13th to 30th, students from different schools in the municipality will visit the libraries. On April 20th, 21st, and 23rd, starting at 6:00 PM, the activity “Libraries Speak, Read, Recite…” will take place, consisting of an open mic where all users who wish to participate can read and recite their favorite books.

On Friday, April 24th, at 11:00 AM, there will be a storytelling session at the Serafín Pardo High School in Tamaimo. On Saturday, April 25th, starting at 10:30 a.m., the Feliciano Hernández García Primary School in Santiago del Teide will host the school theater performance "La troupe de las palabras" (The Troupe of Words), where the finalist students will receive a set of books and a certificate. Following the performance, there will be a storytelling session led by Tato Rodríguez. At 7:30 p.m., the literary and musical performance "El Jardín de Invierno" (The Winter Garden) will take place, featuring singer Aborá Cel Abre, storyteller/poet Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, cellist Yurena Darias, and guitarist Germán Cuesto.
