The Volunteer Firefighters of Santiago del Teide present their 2025 annual report.
This year, the most notable services included the forest fire in the Los Partidos area, the fire in the industrial building in the Güímar industrial park, and the passage of the recent Storm Francis, which resulted in 16 incidents.
The "Susana Torres" Volunteer Firefighters Association of Santiago del Teide recently presented its annual report for 2025, which confirms that the department responded to a total of 129 calls from the 112 emergency services throughout the past year.
In this regard, the report indicates that a total of 498 working hours were recorded, including 177 hours on the island of Tenerife activated by the 112 emergency service, 170 hours on standby and community service, and 150 hours of practical training, with an average of 5 firefighters per call. Among these callouts and interventions, we must highlight the collaboration with the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Buenavista del Norte in Los Carrizales regarding the disappearance of a resident, the forest fire in the Los Partidos area of El Tanque, the fire in the industrial building in the Güímar industrial park, and the 16 incidents resulting from the recent Storm Francis over two days.
Also noteworthy are the 25 activations for various mountain rescues, a number that has decreased significantly thanks to access control in the Masca Ravine, and the 10 coastal rescues, most notably the one in December involving several victims and injuries at the Isla Cangrejo Natural Pool.
In addition, assistance was provided at 9 vehicle accidents, 5 people trapped in elevators, 6 house fires, 8 door openings, cat and dog rescues, and on-call duties for events, notably the Tamaimo Ascent.
