This weekend, the festivities in honor of the Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star are celebrated in Valle de Arriba.

 

Among the various events, the Rogation of the Holy Christ of the Valley to Los Baldíos stands out, which will take place on Sunday the 24th starting at 11:00 AM.

 

The town of Valle de Arriba celebrates its festivities this weekend in honor of the Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star, which will take place from Friday the 22nd to Monday the 25th of May, and will include numerous recreational and religious events, among which we highlight the traditional Rogation of the Lord of the Valley to Los Baldíos.

 

On the first day of the celebration, that is, Friday the 22nd of May, the procession of the Holy Christ of the Valley will take place from the Parish of San Fernando Rey in Santiago del Teide to the Hermitage of Santiago Apóstol starting at 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, there will be a performance by the group Cherfe-Chinyero. Afterwards, there will be a toast and dancing with David Pérez.

 

On Saturday, May 23rd, at 9:00 PM, Mass will be celebrated in honor of the Holy Christ of the Valley and the Virgin of the Star, officiated by the parish priest, Father Víctor Manuel Fernández Suárez, with music provided by the group Cherfe-Chinyero. Following the Mass, a procession will take place along the usual route, with the participation of municipal authorities, parishioners, and the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band. During the procession, there will be a fireworks display by Canary Fiestas. Afterwards, a grand open-air dance will be held with the “Maraury Band” orchestra.

 

On Sunday, May 24th, starting at 11:00 AM, the most commemorative event of these celebrations will take place: the Rogation of the Holy Christ of the Valley to the Calvary area of ​​Los Baldíos. Following the Rogation, Holy Mass will be celebrated, and the procession will return to the hermitage. Upon arrival, a fraternal lunch will be served for all attendees, followed by dancing with Luis Deseda.

 

To conclude the celebrations, on Monday, May 25th, starting at 6:00 PM, there will be a celebration of the Eucharist, followed by the procession of the Holy Christ of the Valley to the Parish of San Fernando Rey.
