The Santiago del Teide City Council, headed by its Mayor Emilio Navarro, joined today the commemoration events scheduled for the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" which is commemorated every 25 of November.
The event took place at 12 noon at the gates of the City Hall, where the Mayor himself and the Councilor for Equality, María José García, read an institutional statement in which they reiterated the commitment of the City Council and the whole of society in the fight against this social scourge.
This was followed by a minute of silence in which different members of the government group and municipal staff also participated to show and make visible the commitment and support with the victims of gender violence.
Finally, there was a contemporary dance show entitled "Desencadenar" by the dancer, choreographer and dance teacher, Carmen Macías.
