The mayor presents the commemoration events for the 115th anniversary of the eruption of the Chinyero volcano

From November 15 to 23 you can enjoy different events as well as the III edition of the Barraquito Route 

Mayor Emilio Navarro accompanied by the Councilors of Culture and Commerce, David Quintero and Germán Jiménez, respectively, has presented the program of events for the "Chinyero-115" event, through which it is intended to commemorate the eruption of the aforementioned volcano - which is year turns 115 - with a detailed program of activities that will take place from November 15 to 23 and which also includes the 3rd edition of the Barraquito Route.

This program of activities around Chinyero will begin on November 15 with a musical festival in which Cali Fernández will perform, presenting her new album “Argentea” and the group Caracolas with their show “Matria”.

On Saturday, November 16, starting at 8:00 a.m., the prayer for the 115th anniversary of the Chinyero eruption will take place, leaving from the Church of Santa Ana de Tamaimo, where the bearers of Santa Ana will carry it on their shoulders. image to the Hermitage of Las Manchas where they will unite the images of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the Virgen del Pilar to continue to the Calvario de Las Manchas area where the mass and subsequent staging will take place.

On Sunday, November 18, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Chinyero Visitor Center, the multidisciplinary show titled “Lunación” will take place by the musical group Ágora. On Monday, November 18, the day that commemorates the 115th anniversary of Chinyero, a commemorative video will be shown on social networks. 

On November 19 and 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center, awareness talks will be held by the Canary Islands Volcanological Institute (INVOLCAN).

On November 23 from 10:00 a.m. prayer of the Holy Christ from the San Fernando Rey Parish to the Los Baldíos area where a mass will be celebrated. 

Furthermore, in this edition from the 15th to the 23rd, the 3rd edition of the Barraquito Route will be developed and integrated into the Chinyero115 cultural program, in which 14 establishments from the upper-middle part of the municipality will participate and will propose different creative proposals around said sweet coffee drink.
