Commemoration of the 115 years of Chinyero with the prayer of the Holy Christ of the Valley

This past Saturday, November 23, the traditional prayer of the image of the Santísimo Cristo del Valle took place before the lava flows of the Chinyero volcano, which this year turned 115 and which was the last eruption on the island of Tenerife.

Thus, in this commemoration, which this year marked its 115th anniversary, the delegation left with the image of the Santísimo Cristo del Valle from the Parish of San Fernando Rey to the area known as El Calvario de Los Baldíos in Valle de Arriba, as in 1909 where The neighbors, at that time and fearing being devastated by the lava, carried the image of Christ to the very lava flows of the volcano, which inexplicably interrupted their path and did not advance. further.

Subsequently, the staging act and the holy mass took place and then the image was lowered.

The aforementioned event was attended by Mayor Emilio Navarro and members of his government group, as well as a large number of faithful.
