The municipality of Santiago del Teide in the hands of its Councilor for Tourism and Sustainable Growth, Luz Goretti Gorrín, is present at the V National Congress of Ecotourism that is being held on the island of Lazareto de Maó de Menorca.
Santiago del Teide represents all the Canarian municipalities and territories that are part of the European ECO-TUR Project, within the INTERREG-MAC program at the V National Ecotourism Congress.
In this sense, he has been in charge of presenting at this congress the application of new technologies to the Ecotur project in the Canary Islands, fundamental for tourism promotion, the practice of the activities that make up each of the routes of the different Canarian municipalities and territories that make up the project, the collection of visitor data, etc.
In this way, the Canary Islands are seen as a destination in which the ecotourism product is present in its territory, offering sustainable experiences committed to the territory, making a clear commitment to the local, reinforcing its identity and the tourism value chain.
The key role of Nature, resilience as an indispensable characteristic for the new tourism and the relationship of ecotourism with the national strategies of Demographic Challenge, State Strategy for Green Infrastructures and Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for adaptation to climate change, They are the axes on which Ecotourism revolves at the national level.
