The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, proceeded to sign, recently, the act of commencement of the urbanization works of the meeting between El Sol and Quinto Centenario streets of Puerto de Santiago for whose action the City Council has allocated a municipal investment of € 95,444.00.  The project contemplates, in a general way, the improvement of the pedestrian walk  and sidewalk where these streets meet, improving the sanitation network, the placement of new urban furniture and the improvement of energy efficiency in said area.  To improve access to the pedestrian promenade from Calle El Sol, will be to widen the existing sidewalk to a width of 1 m.  For this, it will be necessary to demolish a 2m section of the retaining wall and run a new one 1 m from the curb. Between the sidewalk and the walk will generate a ramp to access it. To contain the sidewalk, it will be necessary to execute a retaining wall of the same about 50 cm in height and about 8 m in length.  Sidewalk will continue with a width of 1.80 m attached to the base of the wall until its connection with the sidewalk of Avenida Quinto Centenario.  Between the sidewalk and the parking area, a zone will run landscaped and gabled 1.80 m wide. Likewise, it will proceed to demolish the pavement of the pedestrian walkway. A pavement will be laid new, both on the promenade and on the new sidewalk, consisting of a red porphyry tile measuring 20x30 cm and 6 cm thick. The The access ramp will be paved with red porphyry pavers of dimensions 8x8 cm and thickness 8 cm.  The baluster will be demolished and placed on the coronation of the retaining walls of the walkway and sidewalk a steel railing stainless. In addition, three wooden benches will be installed on the promenade and two bins.  Lastly, the beautification stones will be removed from the face exterior of the retaining wall of the promenade and , the installation of a mural and the space of parking creating 5 spaces, one of them reserved for people with reduced mobility and a loading and unloading space.
