The Santiago del Teide City Council has put out to tender the drafting of the basic redesign project of the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago and its surroundings, the objective of which is to create a unique space on the coast of the municipality and an opportunity to continue with the design of urban spaces that define the identity of this tourist enclave.

The estimated value of the contract including IGIC amounts to € 70,000.00 for a drafting period of 6 months from the signing between the City Council and the future successful bidder and the presentation of offers, through the Public Sector Contracting Platform, ends next December 16 at 3:00 p.m.

In order to increase the competitiveness and tourist attractiveness of Puerto de Santiago, the future project contemplates a series of key elements such as a vertical connection from the plaza along the hillside with the traditional nucleus of Puerto de Santiago and the regeneration of the slope with vegetation. endemic, water collectors and design of vertical connection routes.

In addition, the project includes the redesign of the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago, incorporating an underground car park, the projection of a free space that incorporates SBN (shaded, wooded areas and rest areas) equipped with public facilities such as kiosks, offices of tourism, etc; connecting the different spaces proposed on the coast through the same design language, as well as the adaptation of the existing cove as a bathing area, among other interventions.

Emilio Navarro, points out that "in the drafting of this future project that is part of the municipal strategy to improve tourist and environmental competitiveness of the coastline located in Puerto de Santiago, we want different interventions to be carried out in that area that integrate the environmental sustainability of the nucleus, its adaptation to climate change, the management of resources, water, air quality and the environment ".
