Santiago del Teide initially approves a record budget with more than 18.3 million euros

 

It increases with respect to fiscal year 2024 by 6.14% more

 

Today, in a plenary session, the Santiago del Teide City Council initially approved the consolidated budget for an amount of 18,302,241.33 euros, which represents an increase of 6.14% more compared to the previous year of 2024 with which reinforces the commitment to budget stability, financial sustainability and efficiency in public management.

The mayor, Emilio Navarro, points out that “the budgets for 2025 are marked by a series of guiding principles that guide government action such as effectiveness, efficiency, austerity and transparency, which allow us to continue on the path of having as previous years the accounts completely healthy, without having financial debt. This budget reflects in itself a solvent and balanced administration, which maintains stability in income, which strengthens social aid and transparency in management.”

In this sense, this 2025 budget consolidates initiatives and measures launched in previous years, at the same time to provide continuity and use to infrastructure put into service over the last year, promoting the launch of new equipment and the expansion of existing services. 

They are once again purely social budgets, increasing social spending by more than 2% compared to 2024 to alleviate social inequality and care for the most vulnerable people and groups and continue to converge to consolidate one of the most important goals for this group of government that is none other than that of “Social Justice” through municipal policies that promote the inclusion of the most vulnerable people and generate the equitable distribution of resources.

In addition, the amounts for investment are increased by 25.96% to guarantee continuity of execution with respect to the investments started in fiscal year 2024 and to execute new investments such as the electrical installation work in municipal schools, the La Vigilia sports hall, plan of asphalt and investment in the purchase of land.

By chapters, another aspect to highlight is that Santiago del Teide will receive 5,263,236.97 euros from current transfers, which is equivalent to an increase of 28.76% compared to 2024 and from direct taxes 6,247,595.04, a 34 .14% more than in 2024, making it possible to have no alterations in the tax freeze policy. 

The municipal budget was approved initially, taking into account that the document must now go through the public information process before its final approval for its entry into force.
