The Association of Professional Taxi Drivers of Santiago del Teide stands in solidarity with the fight against breast cancer, whose international day is celebrated today, Tuesday, October 19, and will wear a pink polo shirt as a symbol of this initiative for the next few days.
For this reason, today, Tuesday, October 19, a symbolic act was held outside the City Hall where a representation of taxi drivers carried these poles and which was approached by the Mayor, Emilio Navarro and different members of the government group to support this initiative.
The taxi drivers are thus collaborating with a proposal from the Association of Women with Breast Cancer of Tenerife (Ámate) which, every year, requests their adherence to this initiative that seeks to give visibility to this fight.
International Breast Cancer Day seeks to make society aware of the importance of research and early diagnosis of this disease. Breast cancer is the most common tumor in Western women, with more than 30,000 cases being diagnosed in Spain each year.
