The Second Edition of the Santiago del Teide Aquathlon was held on the morning of Sunday, August 7, in Playa de la Arena. With a total of 130 participants, the test consisted of a first sector of walking race, with a length of 2.5 kilometres along the coast of the municipality, a second swimming sector at sea, of approximately 1000 metres, and a third sector again of running on foot along the same route and initial length.

The Aquathlon had 16 different categories, among which we emphasise the general category, male and female, and that of the locals. In the men's, the winner with the number 74, and a time of 40'25" was Gorka Rodríguez Hernández, of the Soriano Triathlon Club. The second classified in this category was Daniel Hernández Hernández and the third classified Airam Peraza Quintero. Meanwhile, in the women's category, it was Melina Alonso Aradas, with the number 129 who won the victory, with a time of 47'02". The second classified was the local Dácil Hernández Hernández, and the third classified, Belén Díaz García.

 

Regarding the category of the locals, the male winner was Emilio Jesús del Barrio Sánchez, with the number 5 and a time of 51'27". Jorge Díaz Hernández as a local runner-up and the third-placed was Javier Díaz Linares.

 

On the other hand, in the women's, the winner was Dácil Hernández Hernández, with the number 122 and a time of 49'46". The second classified was Annick Vande Kerckhove and the third, Belén Socas González.
