The Santiago del Teide City Council has recently launched the Extraordinary Social Employment Program 2021-2022, through which 30 unemployed people in the municipality have begun to work and provide public service to improve the services offered by the council.
Thus, this project is financed by the Santiago del Teide City Council, the Canary Islands Employment Service (FONDOS PIEC) and the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
In this sense, during the next 6 months the people benefiting from this agreement will access positions in different areas of employment, such as 10 construction laborers, 5 second-class officers, 2 gardening laborers, 6 farm laborers, 3 administrative assistants, 1 administrative assistant with languages, 1 janitor and 2 home help assistants.
The First Deputy Mayor, Ibraim Forte, assured that “given the global pandemic situation in which we currently find ourselves, from the consistory we have combined all our efforts to allocate a greater economic investment in the aforementioned social employment program; all with the purpose of fostering, improving and promoting the employability of the municipality, with the consequent improvement of the well-being of our population ”.
