Through it, various activities linked to the world of letters will be carried out.
The City Council of Santiago del Teide has organized, once again, the IX edition of the Festival of the Word that during the month of April, month of literature, will integrate into its programming different activities and events related to literature and that will be aimed at all audiences.
It should be noted that, through this literary event, the aim is to promote growth through the word, all by promoting the reading habit and concern for the infinite stories that are hidden behind literature; highlighting that, throughout the development of its previous editions, a greater number of children, young people and adults have been involved in each of its activities aimed at the enjoyment of reading and the promotion of creativity.
Thus, this new edition began on April 1 and will continue until the 20th of the same month with the celebration of the “La Troupe of Words” workshop that will tour the different educational centers of the municipality. On Friday, April 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the CEIP
Feliciano Hernández García and aimed at an adult audience there will be a story session titled "The altarpieces of Román Calvo" by the Mexican oral narrator Martha Escudero.
On Saturday, April 20, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García in Santiago del Teide, there will be the school theater show “La troupe de las Palabras” where the finalist schoolchildren will receive a batch of books and a diploma. Next, collective poetry screening with texts by local authors.
At 6:00 p.m., the music and story show titled “An Afternoon with Gloria Fuertes” will take place, aimed at all audiences and featuring narration by Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, musical performances by pianist Diego Expósito and the singer Marta López. At 8:30 p.m. and aimed at an adult audience there will be a show titled “I swear to you” in which the narrator Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, the pianist Diego Expósito, the singer Javier Linares and the dancer Sobeida Gómez will participate. For this show there will be a free toy library service from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Finally, from April 22 to 26 there will be an exhibition at the IES Serafín Pardo of “informational albums. “A different way of thinking.”
