NUDO, unleashed poetry festival is a poetic meeting that shows the contemporary poetic reality without limits of borders or formats. Recitals, screenings, exhibitions, workshops and a poetry walk will be spread over three days in various spaces in Santiago del Teide.
With the purpose of showing and celebrating the unsuspected links between beings and things, between ideas and forms, in its first year in Tenerife, it bets on live shows. Thus, we will see a balance of forces between artists at the local level (Yeray Barroso, Andrea Abreu, Luis Dı́az, Tebu Guerra) and national (Amalia Bautista, Alejandro Simón Partal, María Sotomayor, Jesús Ge, Celia Bsoul and Alexis Dı́az Pimienta), as well as a call to show current poetry in its richness of languages and formats.
NUDO will offer local and international video poetry in its own show V2 versos&visuals, the visual poetry exhibition La Casa del Poeta, workshops and live poetry shows. It is necessary to highlight the importance that involvement with the local community and participatory activities have for this festival, such as V2, which launches an open call for all audiences, and various activities in which the complicity and adhesion of the people is requested. The exhibition La Casa del Poeta was born from a book published by Trampa Ediciones, a sentimental and artistic atlas of the house. Through verse and images, 111 poets tell us about their homes, their refuges to write, to create, to love, to live. The inauguration of this exhibition will signal the start of the festival and will be a source of inspiration to link the local school and the inhabitants to paint or write their dream, thought or lived house.
In addition, and in an effort to bring poetry to the recreational and educational field, NUDO debuts with its program of unusual workshops, such as perfopoesía, poetic rap and verse&image in the fanzines for the smallest audience.
Also, in this edition NUDO makes a nod to poetry in its most musical aspect with the poet and rapper Celia Bsoul in the first poetic evening, and the Cuban writer and improvisationist Alexis Díaz Pimienta, a genius of live improvisation, who will close the second evening, accompanied by members of the Santiago del Teide School of Music.
Finally, NUDO will close its first Canarian edition with poets in the square!, a collective recital of all the participating poets, and a Poetic Walk for non-pedestrian beings led by the poet and performer Jesús Ge who has come from Valencia. All in an intimate and close environment where love for words and beauty reign.
