The mayor presents the 2025-2026 municipal Christmas programme

Nearly 60 events comprise the Christmas program, including the creation of the world's longest nougat bar.

The mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, presented the municipality's 2025-2026 Christmas program this Thursday, November 27th. The program consists of nearly 60 events taking place between November 30th and January 6th, 2025.

The presentation, held in the town hall's central courtyard, was attended by the mayor, the Councilor for Festivals, David Quintero, and the Councilor for Senior Citizens, Tania Cuadrado.

During the appearance, Emilio Navarro stated that “the town hall has been working for months across all departments to develop a program of this scale, seeking participation from all age groups and also aiming to boost commerce and the economy throughout the municipality. Furthermore, this year we have embarked on an activity that will put the municipality in the global spotlight with the creation of the world's longest nougat bar, which will be submitted for a Guinness World Record.”

For his part, the Councilor for Festivals, David Quintero, detailed the various festive events, with special mention of the New Year's Eve celebration in Los Gigantes, the Los Cantadores concert, and the Three Kings Parade.

Finally, the Councilor for Senior Citizens, Tania Cuadrado, emphasized the events where our senior citizens, to whom the town hall provides special attention throughout the year, will play a prominent role. These include the senior citizens' luncheon, the excursion to La Laguna, and, new this year, the New Year's Eve celebration for senior citizens.

The first event in this program will be the switching on of the Christmas lights next Sunday, November 30, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Buganvilla square of Los Gigantes.
