Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism and the Environment, Luz Goretti Gorrín presented the launch of the Ecotur Route called "Between Almond Trees and Volcanoes" that aims to lay the foundations of the product of Ecotourism in the municipality contributing in a clear way to the diversification of the tourism product, firm commitment to sustainability of the destination and the recovery of heritage elements and ethnographic becoming an opportunity for the economy local as well as a fixing element of the population of the rural nuclei.  Said launch day of the Ecotur route, which has the participation of individuals and different companies of the municipality had the interventions of the architect Fabio Sánchez as a member of the Local Action Committee of Santiago del Teide and the Head of the company El Cardón Natur Experience, Valerio del Rosario, through whose testimonies they were able to know first hand work done on the route.
