The City Council of Santiago del Teide within the acts of commemoration of the 112 years of the eruption of the Chinyero volcano in collaboration with the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (Involcan) will develop on November 16, 17 and 18 from 7:00 p.m. the Chinyero Visitor Center the educational program "The Canary Islands: a volcanic window in the Atlantic".

The objective of this Involcan educational program is to contribute to the Canary Islands being a better informed and organized community in the face of volcanic risk to become much less vulnerable than a community that does not know or ignore the volcanic threats that surround it, and is not organized to answer them. Assistance is free, and its assistance is recommended, especially, to people linked to the security and emergency operations who reside in the respective municipalities.

The first talk on Tuesday, November 16, aims to inform and educate attendees about the different dangers associated with the volcanic phenomenon through the screening of the documentary "Understanding Volcanic Dangers" and subsequent debate on the content of the documentary, as well as participation of the assistants in a question and answer game known as the Volcanic Trivia in order to strengthen their knowledge and learning about the different volcanic hazards.

The second talk on Wednesday, November 17, aims to inform and educate the audience about the conceptual difference between volcanic danger and volcanic risk by showing the documentary "Reduce Volcanic Risk" and promoting a subsequent debate with the audience, as well as participation of the attendees in the second Volcanic Trivia in order to strengthen their knowledge and learning about volcanic risk management.

The last talk, on Thursday, November 18, attendees will learn how Canarian society, as a whole, is materializing the management of volcanic risk in the Canary Islands and the degree of compliance with the actions recommended by the international scientific and political community for such an end. As in the previous sessions, attendees will participate in a third Volcanic Trivia in order to strengthen their knowledge and learning about the volcanic phenomenon and volcanic risk management in the Canary Islands.

In addition, from Monday 15 to Friday 19 November it will be open at the Chinyero Visitor Center, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the traveling exhibition "The Volcanoes go out to the Street ".
