The Santiago del Teide City Council has put out to tender the drafting of the basic project of an urban park in the Barranco de Lermes as a planned action within the municipal strategy to improve tourist and environmental competitiveness of the coastline located in Los Gigantes-Puerto de Santiago.

The estimated value of the contract amounts to € 70,093.46 for a drafting period of 6 months from the signing between the City Council and the future successful bidder and the presentation of offers, through the Public Sector Contracting Platform, ends on the 7th of December at 4:00 p.m.

The scope of action represents an area of ​​more than 23,000m² and includes the environmental and landscape rehabilitation of the ravine for the implementation of tourist leisure activities, complemented by others aimed at improving the mobility of the town.

The basic project includes urbanization, landscaping and building interventions for the rehabilitation of the area of ​​access to the beach and solarium (approximate area 2,000m²), the landscaping regeneration of the slope, including itineraries of connection with the town and access to the park (surface approximately 12,000m²), the rehabilitation of the bottom of the ravine for recreational and restaurant programs (approximate surface 6,500m²), and an open modal interchange that connects the leisure offerings of the coastline by means of a shuttle (approximate surface area 1,000m²).

MORE THAN 200 PARKING SPACES The future project includes the construction of a car park in said area that may have an initial capacity for more than 200 vehicles, using an area of ​​approximately 6,000m² for this. It is a vitally important infrastructure that would greatly alleviate the shortage of parking and revitalize the area apart from the rest of the tourist and leisure activities that are contemplated in it.
