The City Council of Santiago del Teide has announced today, Tuesday, March 8, coinciding with the celebration of International Women's Day, the winners of the 2nd Children's Literary Contest "Discounted Tales", with which it is intended to raise awareness among the population in the need to show a more just and egalitarian society, which serves as a reference to prevent situations of violence against women and sexist attitudes.

The theme of the aforementioned contest was to transform classic tales into egalitarian tales. For this, classic stories were used, transforming them into others where gender stereotypes were dismantled and a non-sexist message was given.

Thus, the winners of this II contest have been the following:

* In Category "3rd Cycle of Primary Education" -5th and 6th of Primary-: the prize (a tablet) went to the girl Sofía Tejera Alonso, CEIP Tamaimo student with the story titled "HANS".

 * In the category "2nd Cycle of Secondary Education" -3rd and 4th of ESO-: The prize (laptop) went to the young Santiago Jesús Martínez Hernández from Ies Tamaimo with his story entitled "MARICIELO"
